Patient restraints, including patient physical restraints, can be Radio Frequency (RF) welded to prevent trapping of potentially infectious blood and body fluids.

RF welding creates secure attachment points wherever sewing would have been used. Sewing can compromise the surface of webbings and trap potential infectious fluids but using RF welding guards against that problem.
